We believe in raising kids who excel at life and always have the courage to tackle whatever comes next. That’s why the Strider 12 Sport Balance Bike has become the ultimate vehicle for kids as young as 18 months. Your tiny-legged toddler is ready to ride, thirsting for freedom, and craving adventure. Give your child the bike that set the world on fire and encourages them to experience the thrill of riding while developing confidence and coordination…before they’re even out of diapers.
The Sport is our best all-around model. Mini-grips mean little mitts can easily take control and make this lean, mean, durable bike the biggest bang for your buck, which is probably why it’s our best seller. The 12 Sport is the perfect bike to take your child from baby steps to big strides, all without busting out a toolkit (tool-free seat and handlebar adjustment AND tires that never go flat). The Strider Sport has a seat height range from 28-48 cm (11-19 in.), which means it fits a huge range of inseam lengths (30-51 cm [12-20 in.]). The cushy, padded seat and an additional extra-long seatpost means your child will get years out of their Strider.
Boring specs aside, this is the bike that introduces kids to the freedom, power, and responsibility of riding. Now they have the power to keep up with you when you’re out and about. No more strollers. No more of those ridiculous kid leashes. Your child can experience the truly amazing freedom that comes with being a part of the Strider family.

The Strider 14x Sport will give your child confidence and riding skills, opening up a world of adventure at a young age. As two bikes in one, it sets a new standard as the best first bike for any child and creates the foundation for instant success. After your child has mastered riding the 14x as a balance bike, your little rider is ready to pedal. Quickly attach the included Easy-Ride Pedal Kit and watch your child seamlessly transition to riding a pedal bike and accomplish this life-changing milestone!
Refined through years of prototypes and tested by eager 3- to 7-year-olds, the 14x is truly the next evolution of Strider Balance Bikes. The Strider 14x has been designed to grow with your child (fits inseams of 40-58 cm [16-23 in]), and the included Learn-To-Ride material puts you in control of the best process available for teaching your child to ride.
- The adjustable handlebars allow the bike to always fit your child properly. Designed for 3- to 7-year-olds, these handlebars are easy to grip and provide expert steering control.
- The 3rd generation headset bushing is specifically engineered to be lightweight and durable. This self-tensioning, self-lubricating polymer headset bushing will provide years of smooth steering.
- Specifically designed for a 3- to 7-year-old, Strider's padded seat allows for comfortable riding position and posture. The Strider 14x features a long seat-adjustment range for growing children.
- With a weight of only 5.7 kg (12.5 lbs) while it’s in balance bike mode, the Strider 14x is light enough for your little one to take anywhere. After attaching the Easy Ride Pedal Kit, the weight increases to a mere 6.9 kg (15 lbs).
- With a plus-sized wheel diameter over a typical 12” kids bike, the 14” wheels are sized just right for ages 3 to 7.
- The 44 mm (1.75 inch) width of the pneumatic rubber tires keeps the weight down and the traction up. The all-terrain tread pattern is ready for whatever adventure awaits.
- These custom footrests are easily removable once your toddler is ready to pedal. The unique traction pattern makes it easy for kids to confidently and comfortably stand on the footrest.
- The Stride Around Pedals are specially designed to serve two purposes. First, they fit a child's foot. Second, their narrow form allows children to stride around them to gain momentum.
- The provided chain guard delivers the safety to protect your rider from any bike chain accidents. Not only that, but it keeps the chain and gears clean from any mud or gunk that might be part of the adventure.
- The included Easy Ride Pedal Kit is equipped a foot-actuated rear coaster brake. This brake is CPSC certified to the highest safety standards required by law, allowing children to be in complete stopping control.

Built specifically for riders who are not quite ready for an adult-size bicycle, but have outgrown a 24-inch bike, the Meerkat is their ticket to adventure and independence. The Meerkat is a kid's all-terrain bike that is fast, sleek, and styled to appeal to the 10- to 12-year-old in your life. The 26-inch wheels roll that much faster than 24" and provide a solid platform for taller riders. The Sturmey Archer trigger shifter and 5-speed internally geared hub offer maintenance-free, buttery smooth shifting for thousands of miles. The Meerkat 26 inch is a practical bike, comfortable in urban settings because it's easy to lock up, has no derailleur to get bent in a bike rack, and rolls smoothly over the most pothole-filled route. It's just as capable on a weekend bikepacking trip, just add knobby tires up to 2.35" and your Meerkat is ready to roll for days in the backcountry. To determine the best fit, Cleary suggests measuring your child's inseam and referencing their size chart.
- The Meerkat best fit for riders with an inseam of 22" to 26".
- The Meerkat has a low bottom bracket height, which allows a rider with a 22" inseam to comfortably start out on the Meerkat.
- The seat tube angle on the Meerkat allows the bike fit to grow along with the rider.
- The seat moves up and back as you increase saddle height, so even a 5' tall rider will fit the bike well.

The Unit X has become a cult favorite among die-hard Kona fans. Maybe it's the Cromoly frame. Maybe it's the fact that it's a bike packing monster, or its well-geared 12-speed drivetrain, or modular dropouts which give you the ability to run it as a single speed if that's your thing. Maybe it's because the rigid fork makes it that much more of a classic. We may never know why the Unit X is such a popular bike, but we can only guess it's because it is one of the most practical machines in our lineup.
REYNOLDS 520 CROMOLY
Reynolds 520 tubes are mandrel-butted for accurate profiles and available in a wide range of shapes. Weight savings from butting provides competitively priced, light framesets that are noticeably compliant on the road or the trail, and are guaranteed to last a lifetime.
INTERNAL HEADSET
Bearing cups are actually pressed into the frame and are easily removable. An internal headset also reduces stack height, so the height of the stem and bars are more adjustable, giving the rider the best fit possible.
44mm HEAD TUBE
44mm headtubes are a versatile spec which works with both straight and tapered steerers by switching out the lower headset cup. The stock configuration is internal and is for 1 1/8" steerer. Switching to an external lower cup allows for the use of a tapered 1.5" steerer. The best of both worlds.
TUBELESS COMPATIBLE RIMS
Tubeless rims allow for tires with more puncture resistance; the ability to run lower tire pressure, which provides better tire grip on the trail; lower rolling resistance; and weight savings over traditional tube and tire systems.
12x148mm AXLE
12x142mm, 12x148 and 12x157 rear axle standards provide two major advantages to the Kona rider: the 12mm diameter of the rear axle provides the rear hub and frame with a stiff interface, while the 142/148/157mm outer diameter of the hub allows the wheel to be quickly and properly positioned in the frame before the rear axle is inserted.
