A BIKE FOR THE WAY RIDERS RIDE
Caledonia doesn't fit in a box nicely, and we like it that way. It was conceived on our Thursday night rides-routes that often play fast and loose with 'road ride.' As we tried to stuff bigger tires into our R5s and streamline our Asperos, a new kind of bike was born.
When we design a bike, we start with our library of tube shapes. These shapes are tubes we've used on other models that we know to have various qualities-aerodynamic, stiff, ultralight, etc.-and they help get us to the refinement stage on a bike more quickly. In the case of Caledonia, we wanted durability, lightweight, and aerodynamics to be in balance and selected a package that achieved the performance demands of this kind of race bike.
Caledonia uses a standard round bar, stem, and seat post, giving riders the option to build their ultimate ride without compromise. Integrated accessory mounts and hidden fender mounts keep the bike's refined lines so you can ride with lights and computers in a downpour and still look fast. Because we all know if it looks fast, it probably is.
Rather than designing multiple versions of the bike with various fit profiles (R5, R-Series, etc.) like we've done in the past, we designed a system that enables a broad range of fits on a single bike while maintaining the aesthetic and functional cleanliness we demand. Modern road riders are looking for bikes to handle long-distance, high pace, no limits, and offer maximum fun. By placing lower modulus carbon in key areas to mitigate the brittleness of hi-mod fiber-the Caledonia delivers performance, comfort, and speed. Oh, and you can fit a 34mm tire in there. Or 31mm with fenders.

$4,000.00 - $4,300.00
HAUL ASS, NOT CARGO
A new breed of rider is emerging-one who loves the freedom and exploration that gravel culture was founded upon but who has a hunger to ride hard, to go all out, and to explore not just geography but personal limits. This frontier requires a new kind of gravel machine, one engineered not to roam the trails, but to race them.
For these athletes, we engineered Aspero for pure, unapologetic speed, ready to take down finish lines, KOMs, PRs, and FKTs. A bike built without limits, for the riders looking to test them. It's stiff, Classics-racing stiff, and performs like you'd want a road bike to perform off-road. We think that makes sense, and it's what we were trying to do when we were stuffing bigger tires into our existing frames and swapping in aftermarket forks to get a 40mm tire up front.
The flip-chip in the fork-we call it the Trail Mixer-keeps the trail measurement consistent whether you choose 700c or 650b tires. This maintains the bike's personality and handling characteristics when you switch from mid-fats to full-fat. There are as many different ways to do gravel as there are gravel bikes these days, but if you're toeing the start line, looking to stay with the lead group, and contend for the victory, Aspero is the bike to get you there.

Meet the Hedgehog. This 16-inch kid's bike unlocks a whole new world to preschoolers. The lightweight, durable frame of this little rig is paired with modern geometry and a medium gear ratio, equally adept at climbing and winding it up on the way down. The Hedgehog is confidence inspiring—you'll watch your child progress quickly, easily rolling over obstacles that once seemed all-too-daunting. This bike features hand brakes, just like an adult bicycle, but sized perfectly for little hands. The package comes together in kid-loved and parent-approved colors. Cleary recommends measuring your child's inseam and referencing their size chart to ensure the best fit.
Before your child can read, they can rip. The Hedgehog 16 inch kid's bike unlocks a whole new world to preschoolers. We paired a lightweight frame with modern geometry to a medium gear ratio equally adept at climbing and winding it up on the way down. Nothing on this bike distracts your preschooler from learning to flow on her bike.
As kids ride farther over more varied terrain, they become comfortable enough to try some tricks. This confidence translates to independence, adventure, and endless possibilities. We designed the Hedgehog with a freewheel, allowing kids much more rideability than a coaster brake. It's a big detail, which is a game changer for kids and features hand brakes, just like an adult bike, but small, durable, and created with little hands in mind.
The Hedgehog is light and strong at just 16 lbs. out of the box. It's also backed by a lifetime warranty against manufacturer's defects. When your trail boss is ready to step up from a 12 inch bike, the Hedgehog 16 inch kids bike will reliably propel your 3 to 5-year-old rider as they climb to new heights, launch jumps, drop stairs and maybe roll around standing on the top tube.
Fit
Hedgehog is best fit for riders with an inseam of 17" to 21". First time riders feel safest with their bottom on the saddle and their feet flat on the ground. That's how a child with an 18" inseam will fit the Hedgehog with the seat post dropped as low as possible. Once kids get more comfortable on two wheels, they'll want to sit on the saddle with the balls of their feet on the ground. Thus, a confident rider with a 17" inseam and a first-time rider with a 19" inseam will each ride with about the same seat height.

When your early-grade-school adventurer is ready for their first foray into the excitement of shifting, it starts with the Cleary Owl. Cleary built this bike around the drivetrain to take your explorer higher and further every time. Powered by an internally geared Sturmey Archer 3-speed hub that's activated by a buttery smooth Sturmey Archer trigger shifter. The Owl's shifting mechanism is encased in an aluminum shell inside the rear hub so it will shift smoothly with no maintenance for thousands of miles. Speed and acceleration are no problem with the 127mm alloy 3-piece cranks. Too fast too soon? The Owl stops on a dime thanks to the super-strong Tektro junior v-brakes. To determine the best fit, Cleary suggests measuring your child's inseam and referencing their size chart.
The Owl is the best fit for riders with an inseam measurement of 19-23". A rider with a 21" inseam will sit on the Owl with their bottom on the saddle, flat-footed on the ground with the seat at its lowest position. At that same saddle height, riders with a 19" inseam will happily sit with only the balls of their feet on the ground. As long as a child has an inseam of 19", their arms and torso are long enough so they can reach the handlebars comfortably.

The Meerkat brings a healthy dose of fun for your 7 to 10-year-old rider. The Meerkat 24 comes stock with a Sturmey Archer 5 speed trigger shifter paired with a 5-speed internally geared Sturmey Archer hub. This combination equates to quick, efficient shifts without the worry of chain drops or being out of gear. Disc brakes? Yep! The Meerkat's sealed hydraulic disc brakes (front and rear) stop surely, regardless of the weather. When they're ready for longer hours in the saddle, the front and rear rack mounts make adding a basket or rear rack a cinch and usher in a world of bike-packing opportunity. To determine the best fit, Cleary suggests measuring your child's inseam and referencing their size chart.
The Meerkat best fit for riders with an inseam of 22" to 26". The Meerkat has a low bottom bracket height, which allows a rider with a 22" inseam to comfortably start out on the Meerkat. The seat tube angle on the Meerkat allows the bike fit to grow along with the rider. The seat moves up and back as you increase saddle height, so even a 5' tall rider will fit the bike well.

$680.00
Built specifically for riders who are not quite ready for an adult-size bicycle, but have outgrown a 24-inch bike, the Meerkat is their ticket to adventure and independence. The Meerkat is a kid's all-terrain bike that is fast, sleek, and styled to appeal to the 10- to 12-year-old in your life. The 26-inch wheels roll that much faster than 24" and provide a solid platform for taller riders. The Sturmey Archer trigger shifter and 5-speed internally geared hub offer maintenance-free, buttery smooth shifting for thousands of miles. The Meerkat 26 inch is a practical bike, comfortable in urban settings because it's easy to lock up, has no derailleur to get bent in a bike rack, and rolls smoothly over the most pothole-filled route. It's just as capable on a weekend bikepacking trip, just add knobby tires up to 2.35" and your Meerkat is ready to roll for days in the backcountry.

Meet the one bike to rule them all. Meet the new Furtado.
The Furtado is more than a bike, it's your partner in grime. From winding singletrack to burly rock gardens, the unmatched maneuverability of the Furtado makes it the perfect dirt-ally for every escape.
Re-designed for the 20's, this year's Furtado bumps up the capability to the do-it-all (then do it again) frame. The 27.5" inch wheels fitted with grippy 2.4" tires turn loose lines into Velcro, letting you weave through trails with the confidence of a kid wearing a cape. The 130mm rear travel and 140mm front travel floats over chunky trails while the lower link suspension keeps the traction high, letting you push the pedals without worrying about slipping or sliding. Size-specific chainstay lengths coupled with a relaxed, 65 degree headtube angle create a bike that twists and turns, letting you tackle the unknown with the confidence to commit. From the lighter-tuned rear suspension that ensures full use of the travel to the nimble geometry and selection of build kits, the Furtado puts you in control.
Make every second carved from a busy day count. Snake through the tight switchback, then eye up the ledge that's had your number for far too long. The question was never if you'll clear it, but when. The Furtado's balanced design and controlled feel turns to-do lists into just-did-that lists, and questions of when into exclamations of let's do it again!

The 24" Hula is designed for the kid that's a bit too tall for the 20" Makena, is quickly progressing their skills and is moving up in the neighborhood shred ranks. Running 2.6" tires ensures maximum traction. The wheels are laced to QR hubs for ease of use. A 1x drivetrain for simple shifting, a 28-tooth chainring for easy pedaling, and kid-friendly geometry make the Hula the perfect bike to grow up with.

The Dew is our classic all-around commuter/townie option for someone looking for an affordable, comfortable ride. We've modernized the Dew with a sweet new 2x8 Shimano drivetrain and integrated brake and shifter levers. Equal parts functional and fun, the Dew is equally at home hopping curbs on urban rides, cruising the bike paths, or rallying your local taco truck time trial.
Kona 6061 Aluminum
Kona 7005 and 6061 Aluminum alloys are used extensively throughout our fleet of mountain and asphalt bicycles. Tough, durable, light alloys, both Kona 7005 and 6061 deliver fantastic, reliable performance that lasts for thousands of rides. Much of our 7005/6061 tubing is butted and/or formed, meaning the tubing's wall thickness can be increased or decreased as well as shaped, so we can fine-tune a particular frame's strength and ride characteristics depending on its intended application.
Internal Headset
Bearing cups are actually pressed into the frame and are easily removable. An internal headset also reduces stack height, so the height of the stem and bars are more adjustable, giving the rider the best fit possible.
650B Wheels
650B wheels and tires have a similar overall diameter to a traditional 700c gravel or commuting tire but with a smaller diameter rim and a wider, taller tire. The extra air volume in this new generation of urban and mixed-surface tires means they can be run comfortably at lower pressures while still rolling quickly on a variety of surfaces. It's the best of both worlds.

The Unit X has become a cult favorite among die-hard Kona fans. Maybe it's the Cromoly frame. Maybe it's the fact that it's a bike packing monster, or its well-geared 12-speed drivetrain, or modular dropouts which give you the ability to run it as a single speed if that's your thing. Maybe it's because the rigid fork makes it that much more of a classic. We may never know why the Unit X is such a popular bike, but we can only guess it's because it is one of the most practical machines in our lineup.
REYNOLDS 520 CROMOLY
Reynolds 520 tubes are mandrel-butted for accurate profiles and available in a wide range of shapes. Weight savings from butting provides competitively priced, light framesets that are noticeably compliant on the road or the trail, and are guaranteed to last a lifetime.
INTERNAL HEADSET
Bearing cups are actually pressed into the frame and are easily removable. An internal headset also reduces stack height, so the height of the stem and bars are more adjustable, giving the rider the best fit possible.
44mm HEAD TUBE
44mm headtubes are a versatile spec which works with both straight and tapered steerers by switching out the lower headset cup. The stock configuration is internal and is for 1 1/8" steerer. Switching to an external lower cup allows for the use of a tapered 1.5" steerer. The best of both worlds.
TUBELESS COMPATIBLE RIMS
Tubeless rims allow for tires with more puncture resistance; the ability to run lower tire pressure, which provides better tire grip on the trail; lower rolling resistance; and weight savings over traditional tube and tire systems.
12x148mm AXLE
12x142mm, 12x148 and 12x157 rear axle standards provide two major advantages to the Kona rider: the 12mm diameter of the rear axle provides the rear hub and frame with a stiff interface, while the 142/148/157mm outer diameter of the hub allows the wheel to be quickly and properly positioned in the frame before the rear axle is inserted.

Often imitated, but never duplicated, the Honzo is a part of Kona's foundation. The Honzo is the solution for the rider wanting something a bit more aggressive than a traditional cross-country hardtail. A 120mm fork provides just enough suspension to make quick work of technical sections of trail. Whether you're a seasoned rider looking for a timeless hardtail or a newer rider looking to go a bit deeper into the mountain bike world, the Honzo is an excellent choice.

The Sutra is many things. It's functional. It's stylish. It's incredibly versatile, and it comes ready for the long haul on the bike tour of your dreams. Our Kona Cromoly steel frame is outfitted with a Brooks saddle and microfiber bar tape, integrated shifter/brake levers, proper fenders and a real Tubus Tara Big Apple low-rider front rack. It's a modern take on the classic touring bike. It's a grocery getter that's easy on the eyes. It's the feeling of steel across pavement that reminds you why you love turning the cranks on long rides. Just like its name suggests it's the perfect guide for your every ride.
KONA CROMOLY
Very few materials offer as much shock absorption, durability and supple-ride characteristics as steel. We've never strayed from cycling's original material and have worked tirelessly to adapt, refine and innovate Kona Cromoly framesets as rider demands continue to evolve.
TAPERED HEAD TUBE
More girth at the bottom of the head tube better distributes shock force, prolonging the bearing life of the headset itself and eliminating brake shudder, while providing confident steering performance. The inherent strength of its triangular design also means a stronger steering position and improved balance, giving the rider more control in rough terrain. A zero-stack, tapered head tube also puts strength where the load is going—into the lower headset cup—maximizing bearing durability where it's needed.
TUBELESS COMPATIBLE RIMS
Tubeless rims allow for tires with more puncture resistance; the ability to run lower tire pressure, which provides better tire grip on the trail; lower rolling resistance; and weight savings over traditional tube and tire systems.
12x142mm AXLE
12x142mm, 12x148 and 12x157 rear axle standards provide two major advantages to the Kona rider: the 12mm diameter of the rear axle provides the rear hub and frame with a stiff interface, while the 142/148/157mm outer diameter of the hub allows the wheel to be quickly and properly positioned in the frame before the rear axle is inserted.

For 2017, you'll see the 12x148 Boost standard in the mix. Boost spacing provides more tire clearance at the chainstay yoke, while the rear wheel is stiffer and more durable relative to a 12x142 thru-axle.
650b WHEELS
650b wheels and tires have a similar overall diameter to a traditional 700c gravel or commuting tire, but with a smaller diameter rim and a wider, taller tire. The extra air volume in this new generation of urban and mixed-surface tires means they can be run comfortably at lower pressures while still rolling quickly on a variety of surfaces. It's the best of both worlds.
